Volvo claims that 85% of the all-new C70 can be recycled. This means that less material is used in the construction of the car and the environmental impact created at the end of its life is reduced.

Like with other Volvo models, the C70 has been recalled for problems with the steering and the piping. In addition, there are notable recalls for problems relating to the hydraulic power assist and the hose.

The C70 comes with an option of three engines. The 2.4i 170 ps has a top speed of 137 mph, the 180 ps diesel engine is capable for reaching 140 mph and the 2521 220 ps engine can reach 150 mph.

Although critics aren't very fond of the C70, they do credit it as being the first premium-brand four-seat car with a retractable hard top steel roof.

Jeremy Clarkson of "Top Gear" notes that the C70 has an advantage over its German and Japanese competitors because it developed a hard top roof that folds in half, and therefore the size of the boot does not have to match the size of the roof.

The all-new C70 is stacked with improved safety technology, including an enhance Toll Over Protection System (ROPS) that offers protection to occupants in rollover accidents and extra stiff door-mounted inflatable curtains designed as an improved protection system for side impacts.
